Gochujang Sloppy Joes

How to Make It
- Heat the canola oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the onion, green pepper and celery. Cook for 4-5 minutes until softened, then stir in the garlic and cook for another minute.
- Add the ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
- Cook until the beef is no longer pink, about 6-7 minutes, then drain off any excess fat.
- Stir in the tomato sauce, gochujang, ketchup, mustard, brown sugar and cider vinegar.
- Mix everything well so the gochujang dissolves evenly into the sauce.
- Bring to a gentle simmer, then reduce the heat to low.
- Simmer uncovered for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. You can adjust the amount of gochujang for your taste.
- Spoon the mixture onto hamburger buns and serve hot.
