Privacy policy
Effective date: July 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Jayone Foods, Inc. ("Jayone", "we", "us", "our") handles personal information in connection with this website.
This website is an informational product catalog. It has no shopping cart and no checkout: we do not take orders, process payments, or ship products to consumers from this website. That means we collect far less information than an online store does.
1. Information we collect
a. Information you give us
If you send us an enquiry through a form on this website, we collect what you type into that form:
- your name;
- your email address;
- your company name, if you provide one; and
- the content of your message, including the product or topic you are asking about.
If you sign up for our email updates using the form in the footer of this website, we collect your email address so that we can send you those updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send, or by contacting us.
If you contact us by email, telephone, or a chat feature on the website, we receive whatever information you choose to include in that communication. If you apply for a job with us, we receive the résumé and details you send.
b. Information collected automatically
When you visit this website, our platform provider records ordinary technical and usage information, such as your IP address, device and browser type, operating system, language setting, the pages you view, the website or search that referred you, and the date and time of your visit. This is used to operate, secure, and improve the website and to understand which pages are useful.
c. Cookies and similar technologies
This website uses cookies. Some are strictly necessary — they keep the site working, remember your preferences, and protect against abuse and fraud. Others support basic, aggregated analytics about how the website is used.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the website may not work correctly. Where required by law, we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies, and you can change your choice at any time.
2. What we do not collect on this website
Because there is no checkout on this website, we do not collect from you here:
- credit card, debit card, or bank account details;
- billing or delivery addresses;
- order or purchase history.
When you buy a Jayone product from a retailer such as Amazon, Faire, or a grocery store, that purchase happens on the retailer's systems under the retailer's privacy policy. We do not receive your payment details from them.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information through this website, and we ask you not to send it to us.
3. How we use personal information
We use personal information to:
- answer your enquiry and follow up with you about it;
- tell you where a product can be bought, and handle product quality, labelling, or food safety questions;
- send you email updates if you have signed up for them;
- evaluate job applications;
- operate, maintain, secure, and improve the website;
- detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; and
- comply with our legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We only send marketing or update emails to people who have asked to receive them, and every such email includes an unsubscribe link.
4. How we share personal information
We share personal information only as described here:
- Service providers. This website runs on Shopify, which hosts the site and processes information on our behalf. We also use service providers for email delivery, and for spam and abuse protection on our forms. These providers may process your information only to provide services to us.
- Within our company. With the Jayone team members who need it to answer your enquiry — for example our customer service, sales, or hiring staff.
- Legal and safety. When we are required to by law, or where necessary to respond to a legal process, to protect our rights, or to address a food safety or security issue.
- Business transfers. If our business or its assets are sold or reorganized, information may transfer as part of that transaction.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not run third-party advertising or social media tracking pixels on this website.
5. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to answer it and to keep a reasonable record of customer and food safety questions, and then delete it or keep it only as long as the law requires. Job application materials are kept for our recruitment records. Technical and analytics data is kept for a limited period in line with our platform provider's retention settings.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypted connections to this website. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- have it corrected if it is inaccurate;
- have it deleted;
- receive it in a portable form; and
- be free from discrimination for exercising these rights.
To make a request, contact us using the details in section 11. We will verify your identity before acting, usually by asking you to confirm information we already hold. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows. These rights are not absolute, and we may decline a request where the law permits — we will tell you why.
California residents
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA/CPRA"), gives you the rights listed above, together with the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information.
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, including of consumers we know to be under 16, so there is nothing for you to opt out of. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that require an option to limit it.
In the twelve months before the effective date above, the categories of personal information we collected through this website were identifiers (such as name, email address, and IP address), commercial-enquiry information (such as your company name and the content of your enquiry), and internet or network activity information (such as pages viewed). We collected these from you directly and automatically through your device, for the business purposes described in section 3, and disclosed them for a business purpose only to the categories of recipients described in section 4.
8. Children
This website is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Other websites
This website links to third-party websites, including retailers and social media platforms. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Read their privacy policies before providing information to them.
10. Where your information is handled
We are based in the United States, and personal information you send us is processed in the United States. If you contact us from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and handled in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
